Heritage Week

It was an exciting start to our last week of term! To begin our Heritage Week we had an assembly with Francesca Beard, a writer and performance poet. Our main theme for this week is ‘We are Fair Field’ and we are thinking about the importance of our personal identity and the different communities we are part of. Year 3 Roman Workshop

On Tuesday 13th June 2016, Year 3 took part in a Roman workshop.  They learnt about the Roman invasion of Britain, battle strategies and gladiators.  They took part in an authentic battle, with Boudica and her barbarian hordes.  As well as marching in a Roman formation, including the infamous ‘toroise’. The children also took part in a Roman quiz and played the typical Roman past time of Delta, whereby they had to total their scores using Roman numerals.
