Year 4 Book Making at St John’s Infant School

As part of our book week, year 4 went to work with Reception classes at St John’s. The children worked in pairs to create their own books. There were lots of different materials to choose from and the range of books created was remarkable.There were traditional tales, new stories, old stories re-told and non-fiction books. Both sets of pupils agreed that it was great fun to make their own books. Year 4 at Kew Gardens

All of year 4 went to Kew Gardens, one of the most famous garden in the world. We went as part of our topic on rainforests and saw many plants that we had only seen in books before. We went up to the three top walk way, we saw what it is like to spend your life 30m up in the tops of the trees. Inside the Palm House we experienced the warm, humid conditions of the rainforest. Heritage Week

It was an exciting start to our last week of term! To begin our Heritage Week we had an assembly with Francesca Beard, a writer and performance poet. Our main theme for this week is ‘We are Fair Field’ and we are thinking about the importance of our personal identity and the different communities we are part of. 4C at RES

4C spent a great day learning all about renewable energy. We saw the wind turbine up close, all 50m of it! We saw how solar energy can power trains and made our own windsocks. Thank You, RES.
