Executive Headteacher's Welcome
A warm welcome to Fair Field Junior School. Our school was built in 1958 and more recently converted to an Academy in 2015. Our vision:
Equipping our children with the skills to succeed in an ever changing world.
“Nurture, Inspire, Succeed”
We have strong links with our feeder school, St John's Nursery and Infant School, where I am also the Executive Headteacher. We also welcome children from other schools.
Our Headteacher is Mrs Leggett and she has spread her passion for learning through experience throughout the school. We have been focusing on creative learning, leadership opportunities for children at all levels and a dynamic and progressive curriculum. For example Mrs Leggett has introduced the Junior Duke programme.
We are part of the Poppy Academy Trust which is a collaboration of local schools working together. We are looking forward to our local growth over the next few years.
Mrs Rielly, our Geography Leader, has signed us up to become a 2041 Antarctica school. In 2041 the Antarctic Treaty expires, and the future of the last great wilderness on earth will be decided. Children will be young adults by then – the decision-makers of the future. We want to ensure our children are prepared and educated to make these decisions in the next generation.
This is a small insight into our school, however I recommend you watch out full length virtual tour too. We'd love to show you round our school too, so please do book a visit with the school office.
