year 4 Visit The British Museum
Last half term, Yer 4 studied the African country of Benin. They used sources to deduce how the Benin people lived and learnt about their Oba (king) and their relationship with European traders. Their learning culminated with a debate on whether the British should give back the Benin bronzes looted from the Benin Palace. The year group's opinions were divided and the children gave impressive, articulate and convincing arguments for both sides.
On Tuesday, Year 4 enjoyed a trip to the British Museum where they saw the famous Benin bronzes they had been studying. They were in awe of having the opportunity to see them and had a wonderful day exploring the museum and even seeing mummies and Egyptian artefacts they studied in Year 3.
They were a credit to the school, showing great curiosity and engagement. We are very proud of them
