This week, our Lower Key Stage 2 pupils enjoyed a fascinating visit from author Rashka Dave. During the session, Rashka shared her experiences as a writer and introduced the children to her book Archaeologists' Discoveries.

The children were captivated as they learnt about the work of archaeologists, how discoveries help us understand the past, and the research involved in creating non-fiction books. Rashka encouraged pupils to be curious, ask questions and explore the world around them, showing how real-life discoveries can inspire a lifelong love of learning.

Pupils were eager to share their thoughts and ask questions, and many were inspired by the idea of researching and writing about topics that interest them. The session provided a wonderful opportunity to develop children's enthusiasm for reading, history and knowledge-rich texts.

Thank you to all the families who purchased books in advance. Children were delighted to receive their copies, helping to make the visit even more memorable.

We would like to thank Rashka for spending the afternoon with us and for inspiring the children through her enthusiasm, knowledge and love of learning.
