PE

Vision

At Fair Field, we believe that Physical Education plays a vital role in every child’s physical, social, and emotional development. Our vision is to deliver a high-quality, inclusive PE curriculum that is engaging, enjoyable, and challenging for all pupils. We aim to nurture confident and resilient learners who value teamwork, lead healthy lifestyles, and take pride in their progress.

We are committed to developing physical literacy and promoting an active lifestyle both in and beyond the classroom.  We believe that competitive sport teaches valuable life lessons and helps reinforce our school values of Perseverance, Honesty, Respect, Inclusion, Kindness, and Forgiveness. These values are at the heart of our PE curriculum and guide our pupils as they grow into positive, respectful and active individuals.

How we teach PE at Fair Field

At Fair Field School, PE is taught by both class teachers and specialist PE teachers. We use Complete PE to support the delivery of lessons, with a progression of skills and knowledge covering a range of physical activities, including games, gymnastics, dance, athletics, swimming and outdoor activities. Pupils develop key skills such as coordination, control, teamwork, and understanding of rules.  Through a broad range of physical activities, we encourage our to pupils to discover their strengths, develop key movement skills, and build self-belief. We strive to create lessons that are fun, active, and meaningful—helping pupils to challenge themselves, persevere, and communicate effectively.

Throughout the year, pupils have opportunities to take part in intra-school competitions (within school) and inter-school events (against other schools), allowing them to apply their skills in competitive situations. We also provide regular opportunities for physical activity outside of PE lessons, including clubs and school sports events.
