Work on our Veggie Victory Allotment is now officially underway!

Launched as part of our commemorations for VE Day, the project was inspired by the Dig for Victory campaign and aims to bring history to life through hands-on learning.
The children worked extremely hard to prepare the allotment. There was a lot of weeding to do at the start to prepare the beds before planting a variety of vegetables, including potatoes, carrots, cabbage, lettuce, onions, and more.
A big well done to the children that tackled the tough soil to create a bed where we have also sowed some native wild flower seeds - it was a tough job!
The allotment will be a great resource for the school providing the children with the opportunity to learn about growing food, sustainability, and the role of gardening during the war.
We look forward to watching the garden grow and becoming a meaningful part of our school community and curriculum.
