This week we were delighted to have Rabbi Nick lead a Chanukah assembly. He shared the meaning behind the festival, explaining the importance of the eight nights of candle-lighting and the special role of the shamash (helper candle) in the centre of the menorah. The children especially enjoyed singing part of the traditional Hanukkah hymn “Ma'oz Tzur.”
