Year 6 Get Their Sewing Kits Out

Our fantastic Year 6 children have been focussing on Macbeth in English this half-term. As a result, they have produced some incredibly thoughtful and descriptive (often terrifying) writing and we're so impressed with what they've done.

The biggest success we have seen however is how they've used their knowledge and understanding of the plot and characters to determine the style of outfits the characters would have worn. As part of our Design Technology curriculum, the children then designed their own costume for one of the characters and then created the costumes themselves. They identified the colours and types of material needed to be cut, they cut the materials to size, they identified where to sew the materials together and then the children sewed the costumes together. We are so incredibly proud of our children. Well done Year 6!
