Music

Vision

At Fair Field, we believe Music should be joyful, inclusive, and empowering. Our vision is to nurture confident, creative musicians who express themselves with passion and skill. We aim to provide all pupils with a rich and inspiring music education that celebrates musical diversity, builds technical ability, and fosters a lifelong love of music.

Through a carefully sequenced curriculum, pupils develop core musical skills in singing, composing, performing, and listening. They learn to read and write musical notation, explore rhythm, pitch and dynamics, and understand how music is structured and created. Our approach is practical and engaging, enabling children to make music collaboratively and independently using voice, instruments, and digital tools.

We enhance learning with enrichment opportunities such as whole-class instrumental tuition, choir, performances, workshops, and events that celebrate music from a wide range of cultures and traditions. These experiences help children build resilience, teamwork, and confidence.

By the time they leave Fair Field, our pupils are reflective, expressive musicians who can perform with accuracy and emotion, compose with creativity, and listen with appreciation. They understand music’s power to unite communities and enrich lives—equipped with the musical language and curiosity to continue their journey beyond primary school.
